This weekend brings us the 35th Annual Rod & Custom Show at the QCCA Expo Center. Among the 160 car and motorcycles and 100 vendors on will be "The Sorceress," a street-legal 1984 Hurst Oldsmobile that goes 300mph.

Rod Tschiggfrie from Dubuque bought this car new and has made a lot of changes to it in the past 30+ years. Pretty much everything has been remade from carbon fiber or chrome molly, but it still has the original VIN, tail lights, and dome light.

“The car is street legal and will be driven on the street as much as possible. We also set it up to be a drag week type car if we wanted too as well. Our first goal is to break the 300mph barrier as a street car running on pump gas. We want the car to be 100 percent street legal right down to the mufflers when we do it. We are going to try and do it in the half-mile versus the standing mile,” Rod told Dragzine.

If you stop out at the Rod & Custom Show, you can even try out a VR version of one of The Sorceress' runs. Here's Michaels testing it out.
