School Sends Home Waiver for Students to “Be Excused From Reciting” Pledge of Allegiance
Micah Brienen's niece brought home a waiver recently from her school, a waiver that would allow students to opt out of reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. As Micah puts it, "What is happening to our country?"
The angry uncle post the waiver to Facebook, it reads: "I understand my rights as a parent and I request that my child, noted above, be excused from reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. This request includes standing and placing his/her right hand over his/her heart."
