Schild Brau Amber; Around The World In 50 Beers

This a delicious Lager from Millstream Brewing in Amana, Iowa. A perfect fall day was the backdrop for this tasting, with a bright sun shining through the bottle casting a little amber shadow on the table.

Just the facts:

Bottle temp at opening: 37 degrees.

Drinking temp: 37 degrees

Nose: A little bite--no bark.

Taste: Subtle barley--and sweet.

Rating: 6 bottles out of 6

They call this a 'Vienna Style' lager, which is perfect, since it's as smooth as listening to Billy Joel's 'Vienna.'  I've never been to Vienna, but when the label says they are makers of award-winning beers, this tasty fella must be what they are talking about.  It has just enough of an after-taste without being too sweet, or too dry.  Blue ribbon.
