Remembering Mr. Fantasy…

Today, in 2005, we lost Jim Capaldi, founding member of Traffic. He died of stomach cancer at age 60.

He could have sang, but he yielded to Steve Winwood. He could have played guitar, but he yielded to Dave Mason. He was however, a very talented drummer/percussionist.

Despite all his talents, being the drummer was his place for both successful versions of the band.  Today I salute all Traffic fans and Jim Capaldi fans, and it's only appropriate that "Dear Mr. Fantasy" makes an appearance on today's 5:00 Punch-Out.
