Greetings All!

Our first guests were Mr. Josh Drake and Ms. Rebecca Geiken with the Eastern Iowa Community College.  Both Josh and Rebecca are U.S. Army Veterans and are continuing their service to our nation and community working in higher education at the Scott Community College campus.

Josh discussed the amazing new program, the Eon Innovation Academy.  Here is an opportunity for someone to learn virtual reality in 11 months!  If you or someone you know has an interest in applying for this program, here is the link.

Rebecca is the Veterans' Director for Eastern Iowa Community College.  She discussed the sincere commitment the college has to our Veterans.  Here is how to learn more about their Veterans' programs.  Rebecca also mentioned that on March 1, 2017 a Veterans' conference will be held at St. Ambrose University.  Please mark your calendars and more information to follow on our show.

Our second guests were Colonel (retired) John Schultz and Ms. Jamie Lange of the Rock Island Chapter of the Association of the U.S. Army, AUSA.  As their website states:  "AUSA is a private, non-profit educational organization that supports America’s Army – Active, National Guard, Reserve, Civilians, Retirees, Government Civilians, Wounded Warriors, Veterans, and family members. AUSA provides numerous Professional Development Opportunities at a variety of events both local and national."

John and Jamie discussed the work the Rock Island Chapter undertakes and also the membership event taking place on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at "The Main Event," 3819 State Street in Bettendorf.  The event starts at 2:00 p.m. and coincides with the Army-Navy football game.

Jamie discussed her work with The Young Professionals division of AUSA.  She mentioned that one does not have to be a member of the military or a Veteran to participate with AUSA.  We wrapped up our discussion reviewing the service projects that AUSA undertakes in our local community.  If you would like to join AUSA or learn more about it, please visit their website.

Again, our community has rallied to support this cause.  However, there is still time to support "Toys For Tots."  Please visit the local website for more information.

We wrapped up this show talking about the upcoming Army Navy football game.  I think it is the greatest rivalry in college football because of all the occurs before, during and after the game.  The "after" includes those graduating seniors on the field and in the stands who will continue to wear the cloth of our country, this time as a commissioned officer.  Here is a link to the story of  First Lieutenant Chase Prasnicki, just one of these patriots who fell on the field of battle.

As we have mentioned before, guests on "QC Veterans' Roll Call" radio show serve to provide information to our audience.  However, Townsquare Media makes no official endorsement of any group or organization, nor speaks on behalf of any private, non-profit or governmental agency.  We welcome all guests with a Veterans or military connection to appear on our show.  All photos used in these show notes were taken by Jeno Berta and direct permission or fair use is implied for their publication.

Be well my friends and...Go Army, BEAT Navy!!

Jeno
