QC Airshow announcer passes away

News comes from AirshowStuff.com that Rhett Grotzinger has died. You may not know his name, but if you've attended the Quad City Airshow in the past you'd recognize his voice. Rhett was the announcer for 25 air shows in the Quad Cities. He knew the planes and pilots thoroughly and passed that knowledge on in fluid detail as the performers went through their routines.  Future airshows are always going to sound different--no matter which aircraft take part.

He had been battling cancer and passed away earlier this week.
