You're going to see a lot of articles with similar titles to this blog and you'd be correct to be outraged. But, this is also the greatest marketing move that AMVETS could have made.

The topic of NFL players kneeling during the National Anthem in protest has been highly debated and surrounded in controversy. So it's no surprise that a group like American Veterans would want to put out a Super Bowl ad with the message: "Please Stand."

I say that AMVETS knowingly submitted this ad expecting it to be rejected. Look at it this way, what will get more attention? A 30-second ad or a cancelled pro-vet ad.

According to an AMVETS press release, the ad was accepted and will run prior to the all-star games for the NHL and NBA.
