Officer Paul Rogerson of the Pleasant Grove Police Department was treated to an impromptu rendition of "Happy Birthday" when he pulled over a car in which Gladys Knight was a passenger.

The driver was pulled over for speeding and while Officer Rogerson was checking her license, she said that she was with the soul singer. They were on the way to a choir performance for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

It was at that time that Rogerson let slip that it happened to be his birthday. Knight then got out of the car and sang him a song to celebrate. The officer let them go with just a warning.
