We've hit that time of year when it's tougher to lose weight and get in shape. Once the holidays hit, it's all downhill and people are facing that fact.

Americans have found it's easier to not try at all, instead of trying, failing, and getting mad.

A new survey found 45% of Americans have officially given up on trying to be healthy for the year. For the last month-and-a-half of 2018, they're going to eat and drink whatever they want.

The survey also found:

  • The average person will gain six pounds over the holidays. 12% will make it through without gaining any weight.
  • Overeating will occur on 13 separate days between Thanksgiving and January 1st.
  • Half of people will stop exercising regularly during the holiday season.
  • 34% already have their New Year's resolution planned to try to undo some of the damage.
