On Second Thought…

Today marks the 26th anniversary of the installation of a star on the "Hollywood Walk Of Fame" for former Beatle John Lennon.  Now, many of you might remember that back in 1988, 97X was one of several radio stations across the country that began a petition and started the movement to get that star for John Lennon posthumously.  Many of you in this area may have signed that petition, and many of you (like I did) probably felt it was a worthy honor AT THE TIME.  Looking back at it now ... I'm not so sure.  See above picture ...  (ahem...)

Over the years, the Hollywood Walk Of Fame has grown so much and has included in it's lore some pretty marginal names.  Now it seems that it's more about the "photo op" than an honor for exceptional talent.  So, since I can't apologize to John, I'll apologize to you... If I had known then what I know now, I would have "passed".  Oh well...
