One of the Quad Cities most requested bands was just announced as the Saturday night rock act for the 2019 Mississippi Valley Fair. For the past couple of years, we've been asking: "Who does the Quad Cities want to play the MVF?" And Nickelback always brings in a bunch of votes.

Shawn Loter, Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds General Manager, stopped by the Rock 'N' Roll Mansion this morning to announce that Nickelback will be bringing their "Feed the Machine" tour to Davenport on August 3rd. 2019 marks the MVF's 100th year and they're gearing up to make it a huge celebration.

Fun Cards can be purchased for $75 online or at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds office. The Fun Cards will get you into the fairgrounds each day of the fair and act as your ticket to each Grandstand Act. Without one, you won't get into the shows.

You can also download the 97X Mobile App where you could win a pair of Fun Cards. Just open the app and tap on the button that says "MVF FUN CARDS".

We spoke with Mike Kroeger, the bassist of Nickelback and brother of lead singer Chad Kroeger, about their upcoming tour. Turns out the band loves Iowa as much as we love them.

"We feel the love in Iowa, man," Mike said. "Whenever we come to play in Iowa, and turns out we're doing it more and more, they roll out the red carpet and treat us so great."
