New York Widow Wills $300,000 Fortune to Her Cats
A lot of people consider their pets to be their children, but this might be taking it too far. A widow in the Bronx just left her $300,000 fortune to her two cats.
Part of the late Ellen Frey-Wouters will stated that her pets, Troy and Tiger, would "never be caged" and should always be looked after.
Ellen was a Netherlands native who worked for the U.N. and her husband was a professor at Brooklyn College, he passed away in 1989. Their only child died in infancy and Ellen's caretaker says, “The cats were like her babies.”
When the felines die, the rest of their trust will go to Ellen's only living relative, her sister in the Netherlands.
