New Invention Means No More PIT Maneuvers For Police

If you're not familiar with the PIT Maneuver, it stands for precision immobilization technique and it allows police to cause a suspect to lose control in a high speed chase. The problem is that the suspect can still drive away most of the time.

Enter "The Grappler," a device that looks like it was pulled out of a Batman or James Bond film. An inventor in Arizona spent the better part of eight years testing and developing it.

It's basically a net that wraps around a runaway car's tire and completely immobilizes it. Here it is in action:
