“Military Monday”…? Hmmm

Memorial Weekend and Flag day have passed, but I find myself with a little extra patriotic sentiment this year.  Talking about it with a friend of mine recently, an idea was born.  It was his idea actually (thanks Dean) and maybe it's been done before, but I don't care ... it feels like a good one and I wanna run with it.  So I'm reaching out for members of the community who are veteran or active military, reservists, etc.  If you are, or if you know someone who is .. email me at guy@97X.com and let me get the name, hometown, rank, brief deployment info, etc.  and ...your/their favorite classic rock band.  I'd be honored to acknowledge these folks on the air from time to time.  And to go a step further, I'd be happy to play those favorite bands in the "5:00 punch-out"  so please feel most welcome to call in the info at 563-323-9797.  I'm thinkin' it's just a way to have a little fun and put some smiles on some heroes' faces ...and a way to say a small but sincere "thank you" to the most deserving people of all.  Let's see if it takes off...
