So, how big is it? We're talking about your Metallica collection of course! Metalheads tend to be collectors, snatching up rare vinyl pressings, die-cut picture discs, set lists grabbed offstage from concerts, posters and the list goes on and on. Some fans are completists, looking for any and all band-related items they can find, like Metallica megafan Doug Brown.

The Toronto native has amassed what he has cited as the biggest Metallica collection in Canada, obtaining so much that it even caught the eye of the band, who profiled him in a new video shot back in November of last year before their gig at the Opera House.

Brown can trace the passion back to the day his cousin got him a cassette copy of 'The Black Album' on cassette. The music left such an impact on the then eight-year-old fan that he soon began seeking other cassette singles, eventually picking up part-time jobs for the sole purpose of acquiring more 'Tallica merch like import CDs, vinyl and more.

When eBay hit, it opened up a literal world of possibilities as Brown was now able to hunt down rarities and various pressings from around the world. He even said when a new release comes out, he'll buy 50 copies and send them to others around the globe and vice versa over the last 15 to 16 years.

With 850 vinyl and CD variations (65 copies of Kill 'Em All on vinyl alone) and another two to three thousand other items. It would appear Brown is feverishly attempting to collect everything the band has issued, but he realizes this feat is an impossibility.

Metallica have been putting heavy support behind their latest album, 2016's long-anticipated Hardwired... To Self-Destruct and will hit North America this summer on a stadium tour featuring Avenged Sevenfold, Volbeat and Gojira each on select dates.
