Maryland Grandma Calls 911 Following Rare Bear Attack
Karen Osborne of Middletown, Maryland call 911 after being attacked by a black bear in her driveway. This is the first bear attack in Maryland's recorded history.
The 63-year-old unknowingly came between the mother bear and her three cubs. Osborne told the dispatcher, “I can’t move, and I’m bleeding, and I’m gonna die.” She also asked that they pass along a message: “Please tell my husband I love him.”
The sheriff's department arrived on the scene and found Osborne with a broken arm and cuts to her head and arms. The bear was later located and euthanized, the DNR determined that the cubs were big enough to survive on their own.
