A homeless Houston man is alert and recovering after being stuck for six days in a manhole. Police say he fell 15 feet into the hole.

Public Works officials have placed the blame on flooding from Hurricane Harvey, saying that the water may have caused the cover to come off. The man was living under a nearby bridge when he walked through the field and fell in.

Firefighters had to use a tripod and harness to get him out. He's recovering at a hospital with a broken foot.
