Lady is Busted Stealing Underwear Because She Had Diarrhea

Of all the reasons to shoplift, this might be number one. A 54-year-old woman from Halmstad, Sweden went into an H&M back in March, took five pairs of underwear into a fitting room, and came out holding four.

A security guard stopped her and called the cops. She immediately confessed and told them why she'd stolen a pair of underwear. Apparently she had a sudden burst of diarrhea while she was out shopping, and needed a new pair.

She was on trial this week, her lawyer tried to get the charges dropped by using a Swedish law that says you can commit a crime in an emergency situation. The court ruled 'diarrhea while shopping' doesn't count as an emergency, and the woman got a $378 fine. If she'd just bought the underwear, it would've cost about $12.
