Anyone who loves Classic Rock has heard the delicate and thunderous keyboard playing of Keith Emerson, first in his Band Nice, and most famously with Emerson, Lake and Palmer through a decade-long string of hits in the 1970's.

Emerson died today, almost 72 years old, from a single gunshot to the head. He was found by his girlfriend in his California home, and at this writing there isn't any more info.

Damn. I cannot bring myself to believe that someone who could lift so many with his music could at the same time be so lost in a life that he would think to end it. But it's unlikey that the Moog mafia sent an enforcer to his home either.

The show that never ends. Curtain.
