The 16th green at The Timbers Golf Club in Michigan has been rendered useless after an apparently irate golfer used a club to smash holes in it.

The golf course at 7300 Bray also shared a photograph of the green with dozens of holes in it. A green costs $20,000 to $30,000, golf course manager Patty Tanner said.

"It's devastating," Tanner said.

A makeshift green has been set up for the 16th hole, Tanner said.

"It's disgusting," she said, noting she hasn't seen anything like it in her 21 years working there. She hopes the photos will help police find whoever is responsible.
