Iowa Among the States That You’re Least Likely to Get Hit by a Car
The Governors Highway Safety Association just released a new study that ranked every state by how likely people are to get hit and killed by a car.
The study is based on the number of pedestrians who were killed in 2014 compared to the size of the population.
- The 10 most dangerous states for pedestrians are:

- South Carolina
- New Jersey
- The 10 safest states are:
It was dark out when 72% of the people were hit, 34% of the people walking and 15% of the drivers were drunk. You're much less likely to get hit when you cross the street at an intersection than when you just run across anywhere.
