While riding a train near Dusseldorf, Germany last week, a passenger spotted a "lifeless body" near the tracks. They called the police and told them the person was in red pants, a blue shirt, a red hat, and had a beard.

A huge search-and-rescue mission kicked off and eventually a helicopter crew spotted the lifeless body. It turned out to be a deflated Papa Smurf balloon.

Even though that was a ridiculous result for a manhunt, the police actually praised the person who called them. Police said the witness was "entirely justified" in making the emergency call, which they said could "potentially save lives under different circumstances."
