Had a Great Run…

Today is the 66th birthday of Ric Ocasek of the Cars.  Ric is a great musician, a great writer, and had a great eye for women!  The latter was proven by the choices of the band's album cover models, and his choice of wives!

The Cars were probably just barely above the bar of "Superstar" but may have been twice as successful had Ric even "liked" touring, but he hated it.  But when you think of the decade of music from 1978 to 1987, the Cars were a very significant contributor.  And when you think of an accomplished musician and performer like Todd Rundgren basically "failing" as a replacement for Ric Ocasek, it kind of puts it in perspective.  Ric Ocasek was a big talent with pretty big shoes.

So Today, on his birthday, I salute you Cars fans!
