It's been a long, trying election season, and now that America is finally on its way to the polls, we're ready to close this political chapter ... with some special last-minute assistance by GWAR.

The band paid a visit to the A.V. Club just in time for Election Day, bringing along a couple of surprise special guests for their suitably aggressive cover of AC/DC's "If You Want Blood (You've Got It)." You can watch the results above — including the intro, cribbed from Boston's "Foreplay" — and regardless of where you fall on the political spectrum, you can safely count on GWAR to deliver a satisfying audio assault.

As fans of the band are no doubt aware, GWAR's A.V. Club performances have become something of a tradition over the past few years. The outlet hosts an annual series they've dubbed Undercover, in which visiting acts choose from a predetermined list of potential cover songs, and it's led to GWAR performing left-field cuts like Billy Ocean's "Get Out of My Dreams, Get Into My Car" and the Pet Shop Boys' "West End Girls" — both of which are set to make an appearance on the special picture disc the band is releasing this year for Record Store Day Black Friday.

Covering AC/DC isn't anywhere near as far outside GWAR's wheelhouse as either of those other choices, but it's still pretty entertaining — and it should make a fine soundtrack for perusing the exit polls later today. Crank up the volume, America! You've earned it.
