I know a lot of you hate Nickelback. But did you ever try to figure out why you hate Nickelback? Well, now you don't have to, because a college student in Finland has done the work for you.

Salli Anttonen of the University of Eastern Finland looked at 14 years worth of Nickelback reviews from Finnish media, and came to the following conclusion: They're not genuine enough and they don't stand out from other bands in their genre.

Her study said, "Nickelback is too much of everything to be enough of something. They follow genre expectations too well, which is seen as empty imitation, but also not well enough, which is read as commercial tactics and as a lack of a stable and sincere identity."

By the way, her study is called, "Hypocritical Bull[crap] Performed Through Gritted Teeth: Authenticity Discourses in Nickelback's Album Reviews in Finnish Media" which you kind of have to love.
