Earlier this month, another Farm Aid concert came and went without much attention.  Each concert has performances by Mellencamp, Willie Nelson, Neil Young, and Dave Matthews ...  beyond that, it's become a snoozer anyway.  I remember when the original festival happened on this date in 1985, it was one of the biggest concert events of the decade!  There were 50 acts that participated and played live, and the urgency of the Farming Cause was red hot.  Over the next 15-20 years, the event was anywhere between "good and real good" ... but then it started to decline.  In the last 2 years, there has not been one act that I could get excited about, beyond Neil Young and John Mellencamp... most of the other names I barely have heard of.  What happened??  The "founding fathers" of Willie Nelson, Neil Young, and Mellencamp .. and the more recently elected official Dave Matthews,  NEED to step it up or delegate it ... or else this once-significant event is done.
