Elderly Man Recovering After Being Mauled By Lion

Disturbing footage shows an elderly man being attacked and dragged around by a male lion. Despite his injuries, the man is expected to recover.

Mike Hodge owns the Makarele Predator Center in Thabazimbi, South Africa and entered the enclosure to investigate a smell. Apparently the odor was bothering the lion.

In the video the lion is seen pacing around until Hodge enters, once he turns around, the big cat pounces on him. The animal pulls Hodge further into the enclosure until gun shots ring out and it lets go of him. The lion was later killed.

Hodge was taken to the hospital with neck and jaw injuries and is still recovering from the attack.
