As we work our way through the fourth quarter of 2018, it'll be pretty hard to top the strangest thing stolen this year: a giant inflatable colon.

Last week somebody made off with a 10-foot, 150-pound replica of the human colon in Kansas City, Missouri. The inflatable pink tunnel belongs to a nonprofit called the Colon Cancer Coalition and they really want their colon back.

The group is out of Minnesota and they travel the country, shipping the giant colon to cancer walks and other events. Apparently it's a pretty effective tool to get people talking about colon cancer.

During a walk-run in Kansas City, the colon replica was deflated and store in the back of a pickup truck. Then overnight, a thief made off with it. Officials hope that thief returns the colon once they realize what it is.
