It's been a little over a year since Damon Johnson last joined us in the two dorks studio. Since then Black Star Riders has released a new record called "Heavy Fire." He's coming back this morning and this time he's bringing his friend and fellow Black Star Riders band mate Ricky Warwick.

Ricky Warwick and Damon Johnson have a chemistry that goes beyond the writing and performing of the songs created by their friendship in Black Star Riders.  They are storytellers, both keenly aware of how stripping away the bombast of a backing band can leave a man and his guitar vulnerable onstage.  And while I've seen both of these guys playing acoustic and telling stories at Rascals Live, I didn't get a hint of vulnerable from either of these guys.  So seeing them together on Saturday Night on the Rascals stage is the kind of thing that doesn't come around here very often.

And as rare as that will be on Saturday, this morning in our humble studio, these two master storytellers will spin with us a yarn or two, peppered with a song perhaps.  Seeing Johnson for us is like when Rex Racer made an appearance to his brother Speed--the coolest guy just walked into the room, shares a little rough-hewn advice, a laugh or two, and disappears to stuff that's unknown but sure to be way cooler than what you're doing.  So I can't wait to see him again.

Warwick I've only seen onstage, both with Black Star Riders, and solo.  Each time I felt like I just got a lesson in Rockology from the cool professor on staff.  He's part beggar and part preacher onstage, happily coaxing you to a higher plane.  Both of these guys together, in my studio--is like a dream come true.  Tune in for the music, stay for the DJ turned blubbering idiot.

Saturday's show at Rascals Live is going to be a unique show on a very packed tour. You will be guaranteed to hear songs from Black Star Riders, Thin Lizzy, Alice Cooper, Brother Cane and The Almighty among many more and of course both artist will play their own original material.

This is going to be an incredible night of entertainment, in an intimate setting. And, they might just have a few surprises in store for you!

This is an ALL AGES SHOW. Doors open at 7:30 and the show starts at 8. General Admission tickets are $20. There are a few reserved seats left for $25. Tickets are available at rascalslive.com and at Rascals in Moline.
