A group of cyclists were mountain biking on a trail in the woods near Columbus, Georgia when they spotted a stray dog that had apparently been struck by a car.

"He was really thin, ribs showing and had a lot of road rash and a broken leg," Jarrett Little told WDJT. The group fed the dog and gave him some water. Since they didn't have a car with them, the bikers transported the stray the only way the could.

Jarrett pulled the dog up onto his back and rode into town with him. He met up with a woman who was in Columbus on a business trip and she decided she would keep him. Andrea Shaw took the dog, named Columbo, to get medical attention and she gave him a new home.

Columbo had to have surgery to repair his leg, but he's doing great. He even has a Facebook page:
