Couple Marries on Plane, Crosses Three Things Off Mother’s Bucket List

41-year-old Kristy Stratton of Seattle works as a flight attendant for Alaska Airlines. Her mom Billie Jo was diagnosed with lung cancer two years ago and had three things on her bucket list.

She wanted to:

1. Visit Kristy in Seattle.
2. Be a passenger on one of her daughter's flights.
3. See her get married.

Kristy decided to help her mom cross all of them off at the same time. Last Friday, she married her longtime boyfriend Jim Larson at 35,000 feet on a flight from L.A. to Seattle. They picked that flight because Kristy and Jim met on a layover about six years ago while she was flying from L.A. to Seattle.

They did the ceremony over the loudspeaker, one of Kristy's flight attendant friends was the photographer, they gave the passengers bubbles to blow while they walked down the aisle, and Kristy's mom was in the front row.
