Construction Worker Nearly Drowns While Attempting to Row Excavator Across River

This may have been a dumb idea, but I'll be damned if it wasn't innovative. A construction worker in China needed to get his excavator across a river and he wasn't about to wait for a trailer.

The man fashioned a raft for the heavy equipment and started to float it from bank to bank. The video below shows him making some decent progress by using the arm of the excavator to row the craft.

Unfortunately the machine capsized and sank into the water. He was able to cling to the side of the cab until firefighters arrived to rescue him.
