17-year-old Trina Burnett in Sandy, Utah is autistic. She tried to go trick-or-treating with her siblings, but according to her dad, several people yelled at her for being too old and slammed the door on her.

While 17 would normally be considered too old to trick-or-treat, this was a different situation. Trina wound up cutting her night short and ran home crying.

One of her sisters posted about what happened on Facebook and the community decided to try to make things right. A bunch of people kept their Halloween decorations up, and on Saturday night, they held Halloween again so Trina could have a better experience trick-or-treating.

This time, it went way better for her. She said, "It feels very heartwarming to see that people care so much."
