Chihuahua Puppy with No Front Legs Is Able to Walk, After Someone Built a Makeshift Cart Out of Toys
A vet in Indianapolis took in a Chihuahua puppy named Turbo that was born with no front legs. Now, he's getting around using a makeshift cart with wheels that they built out of old toy parts.
Earlier this month, someone brought a Chihuahua named 'Turbo' to a vet in Indianapolis. He was born with no front legs, and the owners didn't know what else to do.
He was only a month old and weighed 10 ounces. He was having trouble eating because the other puppies wouldn't let him get to his food. Luckily, the vet agreed that he didn't need to be euthanized. He just needed a cart to get around.
But he can't be fitted for a permanent one until he's six months old. So they had to get creative . . .
First they took the feet off of a Fisher Price helicopter, and strapped them to Turbo so he could push himself around. They knew something with wheels would be better though, so they used a toy welding kit to support his body and put wheels on the front.
He'll grow out of it soon, so someone set up a fundraising page online to pay for the permanent cart he'll need in a few months. The goal was to raise $600, and it's already up to about $2,500. You can donate to Turbo here.
