First Army is celebrating their centennial this year and is hosting a movie night at their headquarters on the Rock Island Arsenal.

The showing of "The Longest Day" will happen at Memorial Field tonight, Friday, June 8th at 8:30 P.M. to commemorate the fact that First Army led the invasion of D-Day. Gates open at 6 P.M. and the event is FREE to everyone.

Since this is happening on the Arsenal, guests will need a government-issued I.D. to enter the island.

First Army's mission is to mobilize, train, deploy, and demobilize soldiers in support of operations at home and abroad. They've made the Quad Cities their home since 2011 when the HQ of First Army was relocated to the Arsenal.
