We're one step closer to finally being rid of those stupid traffic cameras. The speed cameras on I-380 will no longer be issuing tickets to motorists.

An Iowa state judge has ruled that the Iowa DOT has the authority to order cities to remove the automated cameras from highways and interstates.

Three cities have argued that the DOT is infringing on their ability to self-govern and are asking for a stay order. City spokesperson Maria Johnson says they plan on keeping the traffic-enforcement cameras on, but they will no longer issue citations.

If courts grant a stay order, the cities will continue to issue tickets until the case closes.
