Cedar Rapids Named in Top Ten St. Patrick’s Day Party Spots
St. Patrick's Day is on Friday and if you haven't made your party plans yet, don't worry. Turns out one of the biggest party spots for St. Paddy's is right in our backyard.
WalletHub put together a list of 200 of the biggest cities in the U.S. and ranked them from best to worst places to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. And while it doesn't have the nation's only bi-state St. Patrick's Day parade, Cedar Rapids is doing Iowa proud.
Their rankings are based on traditions, percentage of Irish population, beer and hotel prices, amount of Irish pubs and restaurants, and what the weather is like for St. Patrick's Day.
Here's what they found for the Top Ten Cities for St. Patrick's Day Celebrations:
- Buffalo, New York
- Madison, Wisconsin
- Boston, Massachusetts
- Cedar Rapids, Iowa
- Worcester, Massachusetts
- Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
- Akron, Ohio
- Tampa, Florida
- Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
- Cleveland, Ohio
As far as the worst cities for celebrating St. Patrick's Day, six of them are in California. Palmdale, California was found to be the worst.
