U2 has been in the habit of pulling concert goers up on stage to perform with the band. The lucky fan this time happened to be Joe Hier, a Bono impersonator who was about to call it quits on his tribute act.

The singer plucked Joe from the crowd after seeing him close to the stage.

“I saw myself in the crowd here,” the singer said, and later told his doppelganger, “You’re looking really good, my man.”

After the song, he told Joe he had “a great voice”.

Joe, 45, said it had given him a “new spring in his step”. Earlier, he had planned to axe his Hollywood Bono act after 11 years “because it is something I didn’t want to do for ever”.
