Blind Veteran Can See Again for the First Time in 20 Years
Mark Cornell served in the Air Force for 18 years until the mid '90s, when he was bitten by a tick, got Lyme disease, and lost most of his vision.
He's been legally blind since then, and is the president of the Blinded Veterans Association. But after 20 years, some pretty cool technology is helping him see again.
A company called eSight has a new type of glasses that basically sound like the visor LeVar Burton's character wore on "Star Trek: The Next Generation".
They look like those Oculus Rift virtual reality headsets, but take real-time video. Then they enhance the images, and allow people with almost no vision to be able to see a lot better.
