Happy National Spouses Day
It's perfectly legitimate that there be a holiday devoted to showing your spouse you appreciate all the things they do for the family and the home. But 2 weeks before Valentines Day ?? Wouldn't this be better timed say ... 4 or 5 months from now...
45th Anniversary of the Manson Verdicts
It was on this day back in 1971 that guilty verdicts were handed down on all 27 counts to Charles Manson and 3 members of his cult "family" for the murders and related charges they were being tried for. All 4 were sentenced to death, but because of a temporary change in California law, none of them were executed...
Finally, No More Tom Brady!
New England fans, I'm sorry for your loss, but I'm likely to piss you off here. The best thing about Denver winning (for me) is that from this point on, I can finally watch a football game WITHOUT having to see Tom Brady's face in between almost every play...
We Can’t Forget About David
I'm just as upset about the death of Glenn Frey as any of you are. I believe Glenn was the heart and soul of the Eagles, who sold more albums than any American band, and his death was an absolute tragedy. But I can't help but feeling that with all the coverage and attention being paid to him, it would be wrong for his homage to over-shadow David Bowie's...

10 More Things That Make This Dad Mad !
Fellow dads ... and fellow men ... if you read the list of ten things that make dad's angry that has been posted here for a while, then you probably agree with most of them. Well, even though I try not to spend too much time being grumpy, I've got 10 more for the list...
Alabama or Clemson??
I have to admit, last year I thought the brand new NCAA playoff system produced the right 2 teams for the championship game. This year, I believe it worked again. It would be my opinion that the 2 teams that deserve to play for the national championship are the ones playing the game on Monday night...
Another Birthday Trilogy
Today is another great day for rock musicians birthdays. Born on January 6th in 1946, the late Syd Barrett, co-founder of Pink Floyd and holder of so much great 60's lore. Also born in Detroit on this date in 1951 was Kim Wilson of the Fabulous Thunderbirds, a great front-man and even better harmonica player...
