Three 15-year-old boys have been charged with assaulting a 12-year-old boy with bricks, bats and a hammer. Motions have been started to try them in adult court as youthful offenders.

The Davenport teens, identified as Julian Andres Mancera, Dejonte Rovara Davis and Mateo Jose Villagomez, are currently being held at the Scott County Juvenile Detention Center. They were charged as juveniles with willful injury causing serious injury and going armed with intent.

Prosecutors are pushing to have them charged as youthful offenders in adult court. If convicted as youthful offenders they would be put under supervision of the juvenile court until they turn 18, then the case would be remanded to adult court.
