All Veterans Memorial Association Hosting Memorial Day Weekend Events

Now's the time to come together and make this weekend truly a memorial to the veterans that have passed. The All Veterans Memorial Association of Davenport is hosting several events.

Tomorrow, May 27th at 1:00 PM at the Davenport City Cemetery (1625 Rockingham Road), there will be a dedication of newly acquire headstones for 21 Civil War and Spanish-American War veterans. All are invited to come show their support.

Wreaths and other honorariums will be accepted at the cemetery today from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM and Saturday up until the start of the event.

Unique organizational gifts such as single flowers, pins or ribbons would also make an exceptional addition to the newly dedicated grave markers!

And then on Sunday, May 28, there will be several services around Davenport:

• 10:30am – Worship Service at All Saints Lutheran Church, 5002 Jersey Ridge Road
• 1:00pm – Memorial Service at Oakdale Memorial Gardens, 5201 Eastern Avenue
• 1:45pm – Memorial Service at Legion Circle, located inside Davenport Memorial Park, 1022 E. 39th Street
• 2:30pm – Service at the All Veterans Memorial, also located inside Davenport Memorial Park.
