Now this is my kind of research. A new study suggests that drinking a pint of beer a day could help reduce your risk of having a stroke or developing cardiovascular disease.

This study looked at 80,000 adults and found that the decline of good cholesterol or high-density lipoprotein was slowed by the moderate intake of alcohol.

The researchers looked at both beer and liquor on slowing the decline of HDL, beer had the more visible effect. Their advice is for adults to not drink more than 14 units of alcohol each week or six pints of beer.
