The nominees for the 2016 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction have been announced. Cheap Trick, The Cars and Deep Purple are among the 15 contenders. Also on the ballot are The Cars, Cheap Trick, Yes, the Smiths and Steve Miller, N.W.A., Janet Jackson, Chicago, Chaka Khan, Chic, Los Lobos, The J.B.’s and the Spinners.

To become eligible, your first album must have come out 25 years ago.  If a band doesn't get inducted, they still have the ability to get on the ballot in upcoming years.

If you'd like to vote (and understand that ALL, yes ALL of the "fan votes" count as just 1 vote) you can do so here.

They should announce the actual inductees in December with the ceremony happening in April.
